SUMMARY

“Longing for Valparaiso”, by the author Carlos Castro Sauritain brings together around 50 poems of our city, which include "Valparaiso, my love", "Bellavista Hill", "The Sea", "Autumn on the beach", "Garden with Seagulls", "Corners of My Harbor" and "I was born in Valparaiso", among others.

The book is beautifully done in sepia, presenting the poems along with photographs of the port by the renowned artist Edith Phillips.

"Valparaiso, memories of times passed.

Multicolored rosette alights in the soul, present time.

A thousand corners where the city is awake, eternal time."

Carlos Castro Sauritain was born in the Harbor of Valparaiso seventy years ago. Here he studied at the French Priests School. He later became a pilot and lived in various cities in Chile and abroad.

His literary works include several books: "Princess Hill", short stories based on Chilean myths; "Spiders", tales of suspense; "Autumn Symphony", poetry, through which the poet’s love for love itself can be perceived; "There was a time" intimate life narrative; "Chile: Women and Offspring", historical and social narrative.

To his literary works this author adds four books regarding themes of the country’s history.
